In 1961, a new Lancaster Senior High School was completed in the east part of the City near the Fairgrounds at a cost of $1,109,300. The 1925 high school building (now Central Office) became a junior high school for grades 7, 8 and 9.
When a new Lancaster High School was completed in 1992, Lancaster Senior High School became Lancaster Middle School and was home to students in grades 5-8. Today, the school houses students in grades 6-8.
